What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation for losing weight is that I was tired of feeling miserable and being uncomfortable in my own skin. I was always the girl who would rather take the pic than be in it.

My inspiration to keep going was I kept picturing myself smaller and happier. That’s what pushed me to keep going and not give up.

How did you change your eating habits?
I cut out fried foods and downloaded the calorie tracker app. I tracked everything I ate and drank for the day on the app. I maintained a 1600 calorie diet that consisted of protein bars, fruits, 100 calorie snacks, lean protein, and veggies. I cut out all alcoholic beverages, drank only water (min 1/2 gallon each day) and my 1 cup of morning coffee. I also started using a detox tea that I drink each night (Iaso tea).

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
My workout routine consists of mostly cardio and some light weight training. I started my workout routine by just walking on my treadmill at a speed of 3 for a minimum of 30 minutes, three times a week. After three months, I increased my workout time to 45 minutes for a minimum of 5 days a week at a speed of 3 and an incline of 9. I currently challenge myself to an incline of 12 and a speed of 3 for 45 minutes 5 days a week.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 205 pounds, and I currently weigh 166 pounds.

What is your height?
I’m 5 feet tall.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I began my journey in July 2020, and my goal is to lose 10 more pounds before July 2021. My transformation took about six months.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I didn’t have any surgeries… just a lot of SWEAT, DEDICATION, and DETERMINATION to WIN!

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson learned so far is that our mind is a very powerful tool. It will learn and do anything we tell it. People will make time for something they really want. On my sluggish days, I would often ask myself, “How bad do you want it?” Mind over Matter!

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice for women looking to lose weight is that it’s okay to put yourself 1st. As a mother and wife, we tend to put ourselves on the back burner to ensure our family is taken care of, but we neglect ourselves. We have to learn how to balance our schedule to ensure that we get our daily workouts completed.

I would also advise you to just START. Please don’t put it off. Don’t wait for your friend or significant other to join you. Motivate yourself! Be your own cheerleader! Share your journey because you could very well be the inspiration that someone else may need.

I’m so happy to share my story with you. I share my daily journey on my social media to inspire other women and men and show that it’s okay to be healthy. If I can do it, so can you.
